Internships at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN)

The European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) offers full-time paid internships (4-12 months) for students.

The programme is a practical training period, where the students get a chance to work on interesting projects. You can view some examples of projects under the following link. It is also possible for students to complete their final project at CERN, such as their bachelor or master thesises.

Students who apply to our programmes should have completed at least 18 months of their undergraduate studies and need to remain registered as a full-time students during the whole period of their internship.

We have two different programmes, depending on the field of the students:

Technical Student Programme:

Fields: Applied physics, IT, mathematics, electrical, electronic, mechanical or civil engineering, instrumentation for accelerators and particle physics experiments, materials science, radiation protection, safety and environmental protection, surveying, ultra-high vacuum, engineering management.

Administrative Student Programme:

Fields: Translation, human resources, advanced secretarial work, business administration, logistics, law, finance, accounting, library and information science, engineering management, science communication, education, audio-visual, communication and public relations, psychology, audit.

The deadline for application for the coming committee is 16th October 2017.

We advise students to opt for the longest period possible to make the most of it and increase the chances of being selected!
