Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski has more than 500 Erasmus+ Inter-institutional agreements with partner universities in Europe. Among the 51 Bulgarian universities participating in the Erasmus+ Student Exchange Programme, Sofia University holds the top position in the number of students hosted and sent abroad.
Application
If you chose Bulgaria as your Erasmus+ destination you have to contact the Erasmus coordinators of your university to check if there are signed inter-institutional agreements between your home university and Sofia University. If yes, you can apply for Erasmus+ mobility in your university. After being selected as an Erasmus+ student, your home university will send your Erasmus+ nomination to the International Relations Office of Sofia University. After your official nomination, you will receive detailed information regarding your application on your email. Please follow the application instructions here.
Upon arrival
During the first days after arriving in Sofia you can rely on the support of the students from the Erasmus club and the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) at Sofia University. They may meet you at the airport or the bus station and may accompany you to the student campus where you will be accommodated.
You need to confirm your arrival and register at the International Relations Office. If your university requires an arrival/departure certificate, please fill in the form and bring it to your Erasmus coordinator.
You are advised to attend the orientation days and welcome meetings organized by the International Relations Department and ESN for all the Erasmus+ incoming students. Follow the information on the website for the exact place and time of the meeting.
You are advised to visit also the information meeting with the Erasmus Faculty coordinator in the faculty you are enrolled in. There you will receive more information regarding your selection of courses, timetables and other useful advises. You are welcome to visit the information meetings of the other faculties in case also you interested in their courses. Follow the information on the website for the exact place and time of the meetings.
The students from ESN organize a great variety of activities during the whole academic year and help the foreign students to integrate in the social and cultural life in Bulgaria.
Before departure
Before getting back home, you should contact your Erasmus coordinator at the International Relations Office to confirm your departure and if ready take your Transcript of Records. If your university requires an arrival/departure certificate, please fill in the form and bring it the International Relations Office.
