Erasmus Policy statement
Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski is committed to fully support the processes of modernisation and internationalisation of the European Education Area during the period 2021-2027 in accordance with the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education. We are convinced that higher education makes a significant intellectual, cultural and economic contribution to the development of the societies all over the world. Sofia University will undertake appropriate measures to contribute to the achievement of excellence in teaching, education and research.
The Erasmus Policy Statement defines the framework of the process of modernisation of Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski during the period 2021-2027. The EPS is based on the institutional Strategy for internationalisation and it reflects the commitment of the University to the initiative for building the European Education Area.
Sofia University has been participating in Erasmus program since 1999 and, referring to the excellent results achieved so far, expresses the will of the entire academic community to be actively involved in the Programme activities during the period 2021-2027, and confirms its commitment to the principles of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education.
Our active participation in Erasmus Programme in the period 2021-2027 will contribute to achieving the strategic goal to become an internationally recognized research university, with a prestigious place in the international ranking systems, member of important academic networks and knowledge alliances, research infrastructures, and partner of leading universities around the world; to become an attractive place where local and foreign teachers, researchers and students acquire global competencies and skills to study, work and communicate effectively in a multicultural and multilingual environment. Our active involvement in exchanges under the Erasmus Programme with partners from and outside the European Union will significantly increase the quality of the teaching, learning and research.
